Stewart and I have started the garden Spring Cleaning, with Spring officially here and the weather changing. This morning we got out, weeded and mulched half of the large long flower bed in the lawn area. This seat area is opposite my studio and large patio where we have our BBQ’s.

Southern Chinese Textiles

Map of China

Map of China

Had the opportunity to visit Judith today. She has a collection of Southern Chinese textiles. She had visited Kings Lynn Embroidery Guild and allowed me to view the textiles again. They are astounding seeing them so close up. The Chinese costumes are made in sections and then joined together to form elaborate layered pieces. The embroidery stitches are intricate and on mass.  Hearing the stories and seeing the photographs of Judith’s five visits added to the experience of handling the textiles.

Pat Working at The Gallery

Everyone who had booked into the workshop sessions at The Gallery began their new projects.

Pat wanted to learn new techniques for making pages for books. She wanted to try mixing medias she hadn’t tried before. Here she is applying a photo of snowdrops to a fabric and painted watercolour background with the machine.
