Shibori Indigo Workshop

Shibor Indigo Samples

Shibor Indigo Samples

At the weekend I went over to Rockland Allsaints to Marion Baker’s studio.

Here Marion and Sally Mills showed us lots of different Shibori techniques.

Once the Indigo vats were mixed, left to stand, we then dipped our fabrics.

We had a lovely day with lunch in the garden.

We had to leave our samples wrapped up for a few days to cure

and these are mine, unwrapped, washed and drying on the line.

I am really pleased with the results.

Thank you so much,

Marion and Sally so much for a lovely workshop.

Watton Holiday Workshop

Watton Holiday Workshop

In my role as a Norfolk Community Artist I help run art events during the holidays.

Yesterday I was at Watton Junior School.

The theme of the drop in workshop was

‘Holiday in a Box’

The children got to make their box, paint, decorate it and put dreams

and ideas of holidays they would like to go on in the future.

Lots of paint,glitter,laughter and food!

Here you can see they really enjoyed what they had made.

The Hungry Caterpilla

Hungry Caterpilla

Hungry Caterpilla

This is one of the artworks I use as a demonstration piece for a children’s art workshop I am giving next week as a Norfolk Community Artist.  The Hungry caterpilla is one of my favourite childrens stories that I used to read to Jenn and at School.

The Hungry Caterpilla is cut out of a napkin and stuck onto card before applying it to the background.

The flowers move and the Ladybird moves up and down her leaf.
