Working in The Gallery

Jane Embellishing

Jane Embellishing

I love Tuesdays @ The Gallery  surrounded by art and creative people. The Gallery has been moved round so there is exhibiting and shop space with Judy. Hadyn in the framing workshop and photography spaces. A display and permanent art space to create in.

I was able to demonstrate embellishing yesterday taking along some of  The Blue Moon pieces for inspiration and the fabrics and threads for people to have a go.

Judy , after some tips about the machine and how fabrics react to felting really enjoyed herself and now wants one!

I decided to continue embellishing a piece of blue textile felting I made on my embellisher. The inspiration for the bead work came from the Blue Moon we had on Monday a the start of our New Year.

Sharing with the Girls

Party Time with The Girls

Party Time with The Girls

These girls! have to party, Kate had the biggest kazzoo’s we’d ever seen and of course they had to be used. While taking this photograph Kate is checking the potatoes in the kitchen and Joan is curled up with laughter at the other end of the table because the girls are now turning blue because I have to get the pic ‘just right’. What a lovely evening. We swapped parcels and I swapped my Friendship Liliac ATC’s(Artist Trading Cards) see sketchbook ideas on these and much more about my day to day blog at www.quilterscottagenorfolk.blogspot.com

Lilac Friendship ATC's

Lilac Friendship ATC's

These are the Liliac ATC’s hopefully the ladies will make and swap  an ATC of they’re favourite skill. I put a loop on my ATC so we can join them altogether as they are made.

Happy New Year 2010

Christmas 2009 is over!

Christmas 2009 is over!

Well today is the day we take down the Christmas decorations and trimmings of 2009. I couldn’t help it this year and gather most of it together as a collection on the dinning room table. It was a wonderful family happy time and a year that had many twists and turns as I think most years do.

Seeing all the decorations together made us realise we had been making and collecting for many years and some of  our Christmas trimmings are now a big part of our family traditions at Quilters Cottage.

I’ve  looked back  and flicked through my journals and sketchbooks for 2009 and I am starting a new often I will continue but I feel like a change.

I brought this inspirational placque for our wall and it makes many stand and read. I hope it will inspire you too!
